    Denmaur News - April 2019

New majority shareholder, new starters & a new grade.

Harry Gould joins the Denmaur Board

We are pleased to announce that Harry E Gould Jr has acquired an interest in our business, becoming a majority shareholder. Mr Gould will work with the current board of Directors and Denmaur employees to further the growth of the business. Stephen Mason remains as non-executive Chairman, and Mike and Nick Gee both continue in their current roles.

Alongside Harry, his brother Robert Gould will also be taking up a position on the Denmaur board, as a non-executive Director. Harry brings a wealth of experience and a successful track record of identifying opportunities and developing companies within the paper industry. Harry's involvement and resources will support the expansion of the Denmaur brand into new markets and territories.

Harry Gould is no longer connected with the paper business that still bears his family name in both the UK and the United States. When Harry sold his business to Japan Pulp and Paper Company Ltd in 2015, Gould Paper Corporation was the 4th largest paper merchant in the US.

Our MD, Nick Gee commented. "We have shared ambitions and I'm certainly looking forward to both Harry and Robert's involvement in current and future. Above all, we have a shared value in the importance of relationships - with customers, suppliers and our employees. I'm confident that everyone will continue to enjoy the Denmaur experience going forward".

    New starter - Andy Smith

Andy Smith has joined us in sales this month. Andy has worked in the recycled area of our industry since 2001, where he was Sales Manager of Dalum, the mill where the Cyclus and RePrint grades were originally produced, and then went on to become UK Sales Director for Arjowiggins Graphic until they ceased trading in March.

Andy lives in Kent, where for many years he played cricket to a 'reasonable amateur standard', but he was born and bred in Manchester, and is a keen follower of the football team that play in blue from there.

He has two sons, one currently studying in Brussels and the other employed in the charity sector. Aside from sports, Andy's other pastime involves keeping bees ..... just in case you were expecting a sting in this tale!

We wish Andy all the best with us going forward.

    New Starter - Leon Griffiths

Welcome to Leon Griffiths who has joined our busy accounts team at Sittingbourne.

Qualified accountant, Leon, is new to the industry but his background in the wholesale sector will make him a good fit for the UK's favourite paper merchant.

Leon lives in Kent and is married with two children, Sasha and Harry - both still at school. He is a keen follower of most sports and participates in park runs at the weekend; and although he resides in Kent, Leon advises that he's a lifelong Liverpool FC supporter, hoping that the glory days of the 1980s will return very soon. Apparently, he isn't referring to perms and moustaches!

Leon also enjoys being creative in the kitchen, citing Cajun chicken kebabs as his current speciality.........we have (at last) a new contender for 'Head Office car park BBQ chef' this summer.

    New grade - Revive Natural

Stocks of the latest Revive grade have already started arriving at our Bardon warehouse for immediate delivery throughout the UK. Revive Natural is the 'Natural' alternative to the Cyclus Offset grade which is no longer in manufacture. Slightly bulkier.

Manufactured from FSC® Recycled 100% post-consumer waste pulp, Revive Natural is produced without the use of optical bleaching agents to produce its natural shade.

The ideal product for promoting a variety of print media and communications, from environmentally focused through to high-end design. In fact, we demonstrated its versatility this month by producing this year's Earth Day card on 300g/m² Revive Natural.

Technical specifications can be downloaded from our website, and swatches are available on request.
