The first in a new series
This month, we'll be launching a 'Meet the Mill' feature, bringing you an overview of a different paper mill each month.
We will be highlighting the benefits of their products, along with useful technical statistics that give grades their individuality and help you make more informed choices.
Today, the carbon emissions associated with paper manufacture are just as important as cost in the decision-making process for choosing the right grade; and so Meet the Mill will bring you the latest in sustainability developments as well as an insight into the near and long term objectives of mill's decarbonisation programmes.
One such mill which that will be featured in the forthcoming months is Sappi's Kirkniemi plant. One of the world's biggest producers of coated magazine grades, Kirkniemi has recently completed the installation of a biomass boiler, estimated to reduce the mill's carbon footprint by 40% 📉.
The aim of these features is to provide a comprehensive view of the operations and impact of the mills we work with, and how their ethos aligns with your own environmental targets ♻️️️🌳
