New Carton Board Division and Product Launch for Denmaur

The launch of the Carton Board division and the introduction of Formakote Spectra reflect Denmaur's commitment to innovation and sustainability-based solutions. The company was the first merchant to register its near term and Net Zero carbon commitments with the SBTi earlier this year and has since reached the milestone of 200,000 tonnes of Carbon Balanced Paper sales since its launch in 2016. Not surprisingly, the strapline for the Reel Fast service is 'Reduce: Size, Cost, Weight, Carbon'.

Denmaur is pleased to announce the launch of its Carton Board division as of July 1st. The new division will be headed by Clive Townsend, who will oversee the budget, strategy, and product portfolio. Clive's son, Michael Townsend, has been appointed Head of Sales for both the Reel Fast and Carton Board divisions.

Clive and Michael have worked with Denmaur for several years as Townsend Board, contributing to the development of a number of board products. They bring a wealth of knowledge and experience that will ensure the new Carton Board division will complement Denmaur's existing Paper and Paper Management sales divisions. It is also expected their appointment will leverage the strengths of the company's Reel Fast proposition, enhancing Denmaur's position in the board market.

In conjunction with the establishment of the new Board division, Denmaur is also introducing a new Reel Fast carton board product in the UK: Formakote Spectra. An FSC® certified product, Formakote Spectra is a coated kraft back hard-sized board manufactured by the Whakatane mill in New Zealand. As an OBA-free product, it's suitable for a variety of chiller and freezer end-use applications. A range of A4 and A5 printed samples are available in request.

Clive Townsend expressed his enthusiasm about this development, stating, "I'm delighted that Whakatane has chosen us as their UK distributor. We recognized an opportunity for this grade in the UK, and as a Reel Fast product, it fits perfectly with our strategy." Denmaur has secured exclusivity for the product in cutter reel form in the UK, allowing them to offer deckle-free bespoke sizes delivered within five days from receipt of order. This rapid delivery capability is a significant advantage for customers requiring timely and tailored solutions.

Formakote Spectra will be added to Denmaur's Reel Fast carton board product lineup, joining Aura Fold Plus, which was launched in March. Michael Townsend confirmed that a number of orders have already been converted and delivered in the short space of time stock has been available. In highlighting the benefits of the service, he added, "Building a Reel Fast portfolio offers a unique dimension to the carton board market by providing customized sizes with a minimum order quantity of 500kgs, and in a fraction of the time typically required for mill orders." Micheal continued, "With this of level service combined with high quality products such as Formakote Spectra, I can only but welcome the challenge of expanding the Denmaur brand in the carton board market."
